Richard Steele, MD
Dr. Steele is board-certified urologist by the American Board of Urology. He received his medical degree from Tulane Medical School, New Orleans, LA where he also completed an internship in the Tulane Department of Surgery. He was a fellow in Primate Research at the Tulane Regional Research Center in Covington, LA, then completed his Urologic Residency in 1994 at Tulane Medical School, New Orleans, LA. Dr. Steele has been with Blue Mountain Urology team since 1996, making him a very well-known physician in western North Carolina. He is also part of the North Carolina Urological Associates and the American Urological Association.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He also is an enthusiastic fly-fisherman.
Kelly McAlvany, DO
Dr. McAlvany is board certified in Urology from the American Board of Urology. She received her medical degree from Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in Urology at Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education in Rochester, MN. She continued her training with a fellowship in Genitourinary and Reconstructive Surgery at the Center for Reconstructive Urology with Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, TX. McAlvany practices general urology with special interests in kidney stones, bladder health, women’s urologic health issues, urinary tract infection, prostate health, prostate cancer, erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and laser therapies. When not seeing patients, Dr. McAlvany enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including camping, hiking and kayaking.
